Classical Type Book

Fall 2019

This project required us to read the book If Beale Street Could Talk by James Baldwin and type set an excerpt of 15 pages in the classical type book block. Along with this type setting, we also created experimental type illustrations from another writer, in which I chose quotes from the book Heavy: An American Memoir by Kiese Laymon. These type illustration pages serve as the splash pages and a visual break from the main body text of the book.
